Hugh had some experience of working wood when he came to me for a two week BUILD-A-BOAT COURSE.
He took his Shearwater 16ft hull home, with its centreboard & case fitted, at the end of his course.  He has just enough space at home to get the hull in, with a bench down the side, to do the fitting out.  To speed things on a bit, he bought in from me a blank hollow mast and two pairs of oar blanks, also hollow.
He and his wife launched Sanderling, (click the thumbnail in the left hand sidebar to see the hull nearly finished), on his nearest water in the Lake District.  Both greatly enjoyed her for pair sculling on the Lakes, as well as a bit of sailing with her small spritsail.
