| Phoebe rejuvenated, just about to find her element again. Bill & Bridget Hatchett joyfully looking forward to a pleasurable December day, knowing there are hot sausages in the Thermos! She's a Canadian Canoe Co. 16 footer, and was shipped over 'the pond', nested into two of her like, in the late 20's, to be fitted out by a boatbuilder on the Thames. You can see the Thames shaped stretcher (footboard) for rowing with its adjustment rack under the beautiful pair of one-piece(!) spoon blade sculls. I would be most grateful to hear of more canoes constructed like her - eagle eyes will note some rare & very high quality details of her planking and associated structure. Please do use the ENQUIRY page, and in the box Enquiry Type: put Website Feedback, to send your observations. Bill's father used her from his riverside house for many happy years before passing her to Bill, who wisely asked me to do some work, including the vital removal of the fibreglass from the bottom. I'll put some more photos and information on the Restoration page in due course. |
