| A smiling Tim Drey with his catboat hull planked up. Tim came to me unsure of his capabilities, but having long wanted a really elegant catboat. Over a period we discussed how he could achieve this desirable goal, and Tim found the design that best pleased him. We lofted it (drew it out full size) together in my workshop. Then Tim went ahead with making the frames & stem, on his own but in my workshop using my all-purpose adjustable laminating jig. (I'll put up some photos of the 'McGluer' in due course) He took everything back home, built the set-up frame and set the frames, keel, stem and transom on it and got planking. What an achievement! |
